Your A1 German course at the German Institute takes place either at our school in the center of Stuttgart or online. We offer intensive and evening courses. We adhere to European standards for quality.

A1 Vocabulary

At German Institute, you will learn to communicate in German at the A1 level. You will still be speaking in simple sentences. For example, in your A1 German course, you will learn how to greet and say goodbye to others, ask how they are doing, and introduce yourself. You will also learn how to talk about your job and your personal life. Family and friends are also important topics in your A1 German course. That’s why you will learn how to make plans with them. You will also talk about your interests, hobbies, travels, and celebrations. In addition, you will learn how to make simple phone calls, ask for help, and express your wishes. This will help you find your way around Germany more easily. We prepare you for important everyday situations. For example, a visit to the doctor, shopping…

A1 Grammar

At level A1, you will learn the most important basics of German grammar. You will start by forming simple sentences and confidently using basic structures. These include personal pronouns, definite and indefinite articles, and German sentence structure, especially the position of the verb. You will also learn how to form basic verb forms in the present tense, use separable verbs, and formulate simple W-questions and yes/no questions. With the help of these basic rules, you will be able to express yourself clearly in everyday situations and hold simple conversations.

When you book a course, you will automatically receive access to our free grammar courses. These take place once a week and provide optimal support for your learning.

Are you a student at German Institute and would like to take the A1 exam with us? Are you a student in an intensive course? Then you can take your exam free of charge and receive an official A1 certificate.

Are you a student in an evening course? Then you can take an exam for a small additional fee and receive an official A1 certificate.

We are also a telc examination center. Please contact us for information about the next exam date.
